"Holiness is nothing but the implanting, writing, and
realizing of the Gospel in our souls."
- John Owen
The Discipleship Ministry at
Ballantyne Presbyterian seeks to help members
better understand the Bible, and thus the character of the triune God
who reveals himself through his Word. This understanding of the
Bible
cultivates Christ-like character, as well as provides a network of
beliefs and values which we wish to integrate into all aspects of
our lives. Our goal is to richly treasure God's thoughts as revealed
in the Bible, and to pattern our thinking, actions, and emotions
accordingly. We desire to encourage our members to live all of life
coram deo - in the presence of God, under the Lordship of Christ, in
the power of the Spirit.
The Discipleship Ministry seeks to accomplish these goals primarily
through the means of grace: such as the teaching and preaching of
the Word, prayer, and fellowship.
Adult Ministry

Sunday School - We offer in our Sunday school a variety of
topics throughout the year which are designed to help us think,
feel, and do more consistently what God, through the Bible, requires
of us. Our Sunday school lessons often highlight in helpful
ways an organized understanding of the Bible's central themes,
which is aimed to enhance our appreciation and understanding of
God's preached word.9:45-10:40 A.M. every Sunday in the
sanctuary.
Bible Studies - Studies are offered for men, ladies, and families
during the spring and fall, as well as occasional short-term
studies. These studies are a wonderful opportunity to gather for
fellowship, prayer, and studying God's Word.
Conferences and Speakers - Throughout the year, we offer occasional one-day and weekend conferences focusing on understanding God's Word and challenging us to apply these Scriptures to life and culture.
Children's Ministry
The goal of the Children's ministry is to provide instruction
in the Bible to all children in our care, so that we engender in
them a love for God, his Word, his Church, and his world. We
believe the church's Children Ministry plays a vital role of
partnership and support towards parents; we seek to reinforce in the
children what the parent teaches at home, as they raise their
covenant children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Sunday School - From Genesis through Revelation, the Bible is a book
about the salvation of God's people. In our children's Sunday School
classes, we emphasize knowledge of the Bible's main stories and
doctrines, as well as introducing concepts, as appropriate to the
age level, that are helpful to see the Bible's unified message of
salvation through Jesus Christ. In keeping with our Christian
heritage, we want to pass on to the next generation a high vision of
God and his wonderful works of creation and redemption, so that they
might worship and serve Him in all stages of life, including
childhood, pre-adolescence, and adolescence.
Memory Work Program - To support parents in their efforts to teach their children, BCP's Memory Work Program is one method to facilitate the memorization of the Scriptures and catechisms. The goal is for children to develop a love for God's Word and its teachings.
